This event attracts solo, tandem and C-4 canoes, solo rec, touring and unlimited kayakers guideboats and Voyageur canoes. The course is a scenic paddling adventure from Ampersand Bay on Lower Saranac Lake to the mouth of the Saranac River across from Bluff Island, down the Saranac River over 1 short carry around the Lower Locks, through Oseetah Lake to the Finish on Lake Flower into the paddler friendly village of Saranac Lake.

Join us for paddle sport competition for a variety of human powered craft and individual abilities. There will be youth and novice events, several war canoe challenges on a 1 mile course; Family and novice races on a 3 mile course and Canoe, Kayak, Guide boat, SUP races on a 10 mile course out to Oseetah Lake – No carries. There will be boat demos a used boat sales area and several vendors. We have partnered with the Chamber of Commerce to make this a family and community oriented festive event in the “Paddling Capital of the Adirondacks!”

Adirondack Canoe Classic “The 90 Miler”
The 38th annual paddle sport extravaganza from Old Forge to Saranac Lake
Distance: 90 miles
Preregistration is required. Entry deadline is July 20, 2020.
Registered Racer packets can be picked up on Thursday afternoon at the Old Forge Information Center.
Start Time: Friday - 8:00 AM, Saturday – 8:30 AM, Sunday – 8AM weather permitting.
Entry fee: $200 per person, ($175 for people under 23 years of age to encourage more youth participation in the sport.) $50 late fee per person for paddlers signing up after July 20
Over three days we travel en masse following the original "highways of the Adirondacks" the inter-connected lakes, rivers ponds and carries from Old Forge to Saranac Lake. There are solo, tandem, 4-person and Voyageur canoes, solo and tandem kayaks and Adirondack guide boats. There is a 250 boat limit. There are both competitive and "Open Touring" classes. We will focus on the C-2 Stock competitive classes this year. C-2 Stock will go out immediately after the Open Touring waves. Last year there were more than 150 paddlers who earned their first 90 Mile Finisher pin.

Entry fee: $25 per person - $20 for AWA members
We close out the Adirondack race series by partnering with Long Lake Recreation and Tourism to host a number of events– The North American Voyageur Canoe Championships, The C-4 College Co-ed Cup, and The Adirondack Kayak Championship on a 10 mile figure of 8 course. We welcome all NYMCRA classes and an Anything Goes Category. Lots of fun in Long Lake! BBQ hosted by the Long Lake Lions.

The AWA was formed to assure the continued promotion and organization of paddle sport activities, develop a stewardship network to enhance recreational opportunities, and provide outdoor employment. We coordinate the Adirondack Canoe and Kayak Race Series, offer clinics and trips, and encourage cooperation between all recreational users of the waterways of the Adirondack Forest Preserve.
